Gail has worked as a reporter for the Salt Lake Tribune, Deseret News, and Associated Press. She has also been a writer and editor for several community and business publications, and has taught newswriting, magazine writing, and public speaking at Brigham Young University and other area colleges.

Gail's work has won awards from the Communications Association of Utah Valley, Utah Press Women, the Deseret News, and the Society for Professional Journalists.

Gail holds a master's in communication and a B.A. in journalism from Brigham Young University.
