Joysa Winter
Joysa is a reporter and editor who has extensive experience working with news and
science publications.
Joysa currently serves as managing editor for a monthly science magazine
focusing on food and health. She also works part time as a copy editor for
the Rocky Mountain News. Her prior experience includes serving as
managing editor for two quarterly journals, one on nursing and the other on
pharmacology, for the University of Colorado's Health Sciences Center. She
has also been editor for several community-based newspapers and newsletters.
Joysa earned her bachelor's degree at the highly regarded University of
Missouri-Columbia School of Journalism, where she graduated with honors. She
has also done graduate-level coursework in religion and Hebrew at the
University of Denver and the Conservative Yeshiva in Jerusalem, studied
Mexican history and Spanish at the University of Guadalajara, and
participated in Georgetown University's Institute on Political Journalism on
a full scholarship.
